COVID-19 UPDATE
Due to the uncertainty of the start of the boating season in Chicago, we are unable at this time to announce a new date for the COLORS Regatta or a start date for the Chicago Beer Can Series. Our commitment is to be in immediate contact with you as soon as we determine safe new dates. We expect to provide you with an update after the State of Illinois' Stay at Home Order has expired on May 31.

The COLORS Regatta, sponsored by Skyway Yacht Works, is Columbia Yacht Club's One-Level Offshore Racing Series and has been Chicago’s shake-the-sheets event on Lake Michigan since 1995! More than 100 boats race annually during the first weekend of June. The strong one-design presence of the Beneteau, J/Boat, Tartan-10 and other large fleets designates the event as a tune-up for the season.
Coronavirus
The health and well being of all race participants, volunteers, and club staff are our greatest priority. Columbia Yacht Club will continue to closely monitor the situation and events related to the Coronavirus and will modify race details as necessary when needed. The race fees are 100% refundable should it be needed to cancel the race, or should you decide at a later date that you wish not to participate.
Regatta Overview
The race dates are Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 7th, with post-race parties scheduled for both days. Again this year, as was done in 2019, Columbia Yacht Club is offering Offshore and Inshore buoy courses, as well as distance racing for crewed and short-handed sections.
Racing is not the only factor that makes for a good regatta, though. The social side is equally important, and Columbia Yacht Club, Chicago is well-versed in creating a good time. The big annual regatta party takes place on Saturday with tasty food, amazing libations, and a live band. Also, enjoy an easy-going Sunday wrap up party.

Buoy & Distance Racing followed by a regatta party and awards.
Enjoy a fun and competitive day of buoy and distance racing with nearly 150 boats.
After the racing, meet us at Columbia Yacht Club for an over the top post-regatta party with Sierra Nevada Brewing, Gosling's Rum, and Underwood wines. Skyway Yacht Works and Columbia’s galley crew team up to put out a summer spread including a raw bar, seafood, Bermuda BBQ and more. All competitors eat for free.
Non-competitors are also welcome — $25 gets you to the buffet, and for another $25 you can belly up for liquid refreshments — all night.
